Creative Camera Club Print Show and Exhibition

I am recovering from some minor surgery and have some time to catch up on a few things.  I thought I would post some much overdue blog posts from a few of our photographic endeavors earlier this year.

Starting in January was the highlight exhibition of the year: the Creative Camera Club's 45th Annual Print Show and Exhibition which was held at the City Gallery of the Downtown Arts Center.  We had over 170 competitive prints on exhibition as well as over a dozen exhibition prints.  The prints were judged and critiqued by an independent panel of judges and also received awards from the club membership as well as the general public at the Gallery Hop and Opening Reception on January 15th.

Jennifer and I were humbled and honored with several awards.

  • Jeff was awarded a Third Place in the Color Wild Card Category, entitled Happy Hour.
  • Jennifer's Color Flora entry, Saffron Blaze, received a Club's Choice award and Best Color from the judges
  • Jeff's entry in the Color Architecture category, At the Cathedral, also received a Club's Choice and was award the Best of Show award from the judges.
  • Jennifer's exhibition entry, Last Light on Half Dome II, a 24x36 gallery wrapped canvas print received a People's Choice  Honorable Mention award in the Color Exhibition class
  • Jeff's exhibition entry, Petroblaze, a 24x36 gallery wrapped canvas print received a People's Choice  First Place award in the Color Exhibition class.

J&J also printed a handful of member prints from the show, many of which won awards as well:  Lana Yeary won First Place in Color Abstract, Second Place in Color Fauna, and Honorable Mention in Color Portrait.  Lori Rivera won Third Place in Color Flora.

Dry Mounting Available Now from J&J

We are pleased to announce that our dry mounting service is now available at J & J Digital.  Dry mounting is a permenant mounting process where art is attached to a mounting substrate such as foam for or fine art board.  Whether it be dry mounting, wrapped canvas finishing or double mounted framed prints, J & J has the tools and experience to meet your needs.

J & J customer, Matt Cooper, said "These are awesome!  They were thrilled!" in reaction to his recent delivery of dry mounted images from the NASA archives for his sons' room.  Here's a few images of the works.

We are in the process of opening our website up for e-commerce.  Our store will soon offer a wide variety of original prints and canvases in multiple sizes for purchase directly from the site.  Stay tuned...
